The short version

Undivided is for adults 18 and older.
It helps you pause before an app you choose. It is a tool, not a guarantee, and not medical or mental-health care.
You send your own accountability texts. Only add people you know, and stop if they ask you to.
Lock in a Break cannot be ended early in the app. Calls, emergency features and your other apps keep working.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (U.S.). In an emergency, call 911.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Future Addictions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They cover the Undivided app for iPhone (the “app”) and this website, myundividedapp.com. They are the end-user license agreement for the app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who can use Undivided

You must be 18 or older. By using the app, you confirm that you are.
Where the law requires it, or where Apple can’t tell us whether it applies, the app may use Apple’s age range feature to confirm you are 18 or older. Apple shares only an age range, never your birth date. If you are under 18, you may not use the app.
You may use the app only on an Apple device that you own or control.
You confirm that you are not located in a country under a U.S. government embargo or one the U.S. government has named a “terrorist supporting” country. You also confirm that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

3. What the app does and does not do

Undivided helps you pause before opening an app you choose, and choose something better. Its features include:

a voluntary “Pause now” exercise,
a pause screen on one app you choose,
a 15-second “Think First” pause before you continue,
15 minutes of access after that pause,
“Lock in a Break,” and
optional accountability messages and faith reflections.

Please understand these limits:

The pause screen depends on Apple’s Screen Time system. Apple controls when iOS shows the pause screen and when it returns. After a 15-minute access period or a break, the pause screen is scheduled to return. The exact timing is set by iOS and may sometimes be late. Opening Undivided checks and restores it.
You can turn off Undivided’s Screen Time access in your iPhone’s Settings at any time. If you do, the pause screen stops.
Undivided is a tool to help you build better habits. We do not promise any particular result.

4. Screen Time permission

To protect an app, you must give Undivided Apple’s Screen Time permission and pick the app on Apple’s selection screen. Undivided cannot see which app you picked. Apple’s terms apply to Screen Time. If you do not give permission, you can still use the voluntary “Pause now” exercise and other parts of the app.

5. Lock in a Break

When you start a break, the app you chose stays paused for the length of the break (currently 15 minutes).
A break cannot be ended early or skipped from inside Undivided. This is on purpose, and you choose to start it. During a break, you can still use the rest of Undivided, but you can’t turn off, change or end protection until the break ends.
iOS controls the exact end time, so a break may end a little late. Opening Undivided after the time is up ends it.
Phone calls, emergency features and your other apps are not blocked.
You can still turn off Screen Time permission in your iPhone’s Settings.
Do not start a break if you may need the chosen app for something urgent during that time.

6. Accountability messages

If you add an accountability partner, you are responsible for choosing someone you know, sending the invite yourself, and stopping if they say no or ask you to stop.
Undivided only prepares a draft in Apple’s Messages app. You review it and decide whether to send it. The app never sends messages on its own.
Messages are sent by Apple and your carrier. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Do not use this feature to harass anyone or to send messages someone asked you not to send.

7. Faith content

Undivided is built by Christians and open to everyone. You choose how much faith content you see: Woven In, Light Touch or Core Only. Reflections are our own original writing and are for personal encouragement. They refer to Bible passages by reference (for example, “Inspired by Philippians 4:8”). They do not quote a Bible translation. They are not pastoral counseling. They do not replace your own church, pastor or reading of Scripture.

8. Not medical care or emergency help

Undivided is a habit and wellness tool. It is not medical care, therapy, counseling, diagnosis or treatment for any condition, including addiction. It is not a substitute for a doctor or licensed professional.
Undivided does not monitor you and cannot respond to emergencies.

In an emergency, call 911.
If phone use feels hard to manage on your own, consider talking with someone you trust or a qualified professional.

9. Your license to use the app

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control. Your use must follow the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions. The app is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights we do not expressly give you.

10. Rules for using the app

You agree not to:

copy, change, sell, rent or share the app, except as the law allows,
reverse engineer, decompile or try to get the app’s source code, except where the law allows it despite this rule,
use the app to break any law or to harm, harass or deceive anyone, or
try to interfere with the app, Apple’s systems or anyone else’s use of them.

11. Our content

The app, its design and its original writing belong to Future Addictions LLC or our licensors. This includes the reflections, prayers and prompts. They are protected by copyright and other laws. You may share a reflection with a friend for personal, non-commercial use.

12. Price and future purchases

Undivided is currently free. If we offer paid features later, we will show you the price and terms before you buy. Purchases and subscriptions are made through Apple’s App Store and follow Apple’s payment and refund rules. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information. In short: the app keeps what you enter on your iPhone and does not send it to us. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.

14. Terms about Apple

You downloaded Undivided from Apple’s App Store. You and we agree that:

Apple is not a party. These Terms are between you and Future Addictions LLC only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
Scope of license. Your license is limited to a non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions. Family Sharing and volume purchase uses allowed by those rules are included.
Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as described in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility, not Apple’s.
Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it. This includes: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Developer contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to us at the address, phone number and email in section 21.
Third-party terms. You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app. These include Apple’s terms for your Apple Account, Screen Time and Messages, and your wireless carrier’s terms.
Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. No warranties

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not promise that the pause screen will always appear, return at an exact time, or stop you from using any app. Some states do not allow these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you. Your consumer rights under the law are not affected.

16. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Future Addictions LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. This includes lost data, lost time or missed messages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Our total liability for all claims about the app is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. This includes liability for our gross negligence, fraud or intentional misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Some states do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

17. Ending these Terms

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end your license if you seriously break these Terms. We may also stop offering the app. If these Terms end, you must stop using the app and delete it. Sections 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19 and 20 continue to apply after these Terms end.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you inside the app or in the App Store update notes before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete it.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Your state’s consumer protection laws still apply to you.
Before filing a claim, please email us at support@futureaddictions.com so we can try to fix the problem. Most problems can be solved this way.
If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court in the county where you live, if it qualifies. Otherwise, either of us may bring it in a state or federal court with jurisdiction.
These Terms do not require arbitration, and they do not waive your right to a jury trial or to join a class action.

20. General terms

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, we have not waived our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over the app, and your rights will stay the same.
